During multiple upland bird, rabbit, turkey, and waterfowl seasons, and thousands of rounds fired, the Montefeltro operates just as well as the first day I shot it. I have used a 12 gauge Benelli Montefeltro with a 28 inch barrel, almost exclusively for over 5 years. It uses the absolutely bullet proof Benelli inertia system, to manage recoil and cycle shells flawlessly, even in some of the worst huntng conditions. The Benelli Montefeltro is one of the best shotguns on the market today. No Swivel Studs Capacity | 4 + 1 Loads | 2-¾ - 3 inch Weight | 7.1 lbs Overall Length Chokes | 3 Crio screw-in choke tubes (IC, M, F) Rib | Low-profile vent rib Sights | Red Fiber Optic Front Sight Stock | Satin Walnut Length of Pull | 14 ⅜ inches Sling | None. After Shawn's experience last weekend I checked my brand new Benelli when I got home Sunday.Action | Semi-Automatic Inertia Driven Gauges | 12, 20 Barrel Length | 26 inches or 28 inches

I asked if Benelli was looking at a solution to this problem he said not at this time.I own at least one of every shoutgun made by each manufacturer Beretta, Browning, Franchi, Ithaca, Remington, and Winchester, I even own a Charles Daily, I honestly expected a little more from Benelli.

All Benelli needed was the serial number off the gun.The customer service rep asked if the guns in questioned had been shooting 3 1/2 inch shells, I said yes, he then replied that was the problem, of course I responded with, 'you make it to shoot 3 1/2 inch shells so there should not be a problem' He assured me the crack was normal and Benelli would warranty the forearm if the ring broke completely. The rep, said to make sure the forearm end cap is TIGHT at all times, any slack adds additional stress on the rings from the recoil. I was told the hair line fracture is normal (I still have doubts about that) and was told that if the ring completely breaks, which Shawn's did, they would replace the forearm.
